Invoices & Payments

Close the loop from completed work to money received without losing the job history.

Where it lives

Sidebar → Payments. Settings → Payments for Stripe, Zelle, cash, check, and payment instructions.

Send and collect

  1. Open the completed job when it is Ready to invoice, then create or open its invoice.
  2. Review the amount, line items, deposit or remaining amount owed, and customer-facing details before sending.
  3. Send the invoice/payment link, or collect through the payment method you agreed with the customer.
  4. For Zelle, cash, or check, record the manual payment so Amount / Paid / Owed stays correct.

Payment methods and processing

Payment settings support Stripe, Zelle, cash, check, and custom payment instructions. For card payments, your business pays Stripe fees + 0.6% HandyDesk fee on Free or Stripe fees + 0% HandyDesk fee on active Operator.

Stripe bills your business its actual processing fees, including any fixed per-transaction fee. The HandyDesk percentage applies to the total invoice payment, including any tip. HandyDesk does not add another $0.30. The invoice payment and tip stay separately recorded.

What happens next

Payments update the invoice amount still owed and collection state. Deposits and partial payments reduce what remains without marking the invoice fully paid too early.

Good to knowFinished work and paid work are not the same thing. Keep both states accurate so reporting and follow-up stay useful.
